about

Debut track off of <<The Deep Stare>> "CLARITY IN CHAOS:"

Guitarist Travis Swanson wrote "The Streets Are Quiet Now" during the onset of the COVID-19 crisis, the numerous public fights for civil rights and demands for justice, and the resulting riots and destruction in our cities that followed. The brutality of the George Floyd murder, the resulting unrest and many unjust murders and violence at the hands of American law enforcement, the death and calamity the world faced, it all came to a head in the creation of this song.

By early 2021 Swanson and Szumowski started regularly getting together to play the new music, and this studio version is what has evolved over time from the song's humble beginnings. The whammy-pedal sounds of bassist Jonathon Muir-Cotton paint a vivid and poignant scene, a landscape strange sounds, of creaking footsteps, chaos and calamity.
